Some voices don't just fill a room. They stay with you long after the music stops.

Chantal Kreviazuk is one of those voices.

A Grammy and JUNO Award-winning singer-songwriter, Member of the Order of Canada, and recipient of the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award, Chantal has spent decades writing songs that move people, literally and emotionally. But her reach extends far beyond her own recordings. She is one of the most sought-after songwriters of her generation, having penned hits for Kelly Clarkson, Drake, Avril Lavigne, and many others. Her words have traveled the world many times over, carried by voices not her own, and yet her fingerprints are unmistakable.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Chantal brings with her a distinctly Canadian identity, one she wears with quiet pride. Growing up in a province where one in seven people is of Ukrainian descent, her heritage has shaped not just who she is but how she moves through the world. Hardworking, humble, deeply compassionate. In her own words, the goal has always been simple: kill them with kindness, be curious and compassionate, and make sure people leave knowing what Canadians are made of.

That spirit has never wavered, even as her career has taken her across continents. While she scaled back her touring in recent years to spend more time with her family, she never truly stepped away from music. She kept writing, kept collaborating, kept performing on her own terms. Now, ready to expand again, she is going on tour and Los Angeles is one of her first stops.

This April, Chantal brings her intimate solo show to The Hotel Café for three evenings. Just her and the piano. No elaborate production, no distance between artist and audience. She describes the experience as going off at the keys for an hour and a half or two, weaving together old favorites, new material, and some of the famous songs she has written for others over the years. Big songs in an intimate room. It is the kind of performance that reminds you why live music exists in the first place.

For the Canadian community in Los Angeles, this is a particularly special occasion. There is something about hearing a voice from home in a city so far from it. A sense of recognition, of being understood, of belonging. Chantal knows that feeling well. Performing for fellow Canadians abroad, she says, is like bumping into an old friend. You just feel at home.

Come feel at home.

Chantal Kreviazuk performs at The Hotel Café in Los Angeles on April 1, 15, and 29 at 8 pm.

We hope to see you there.
