XOF1 SOLAR CAR arrives in Los Angeles and receives a warm welcome at the Official Residence of the Consul General on Mar. 6, 2009.

With celebrity enthusiasts of green power such as Peter Fonda and Ed Begley Jr. , the CCBC and Consulate General of Canada reception marked a historic event -- the X0FI had driven over 12,500 miles using only sunshine as fuel. It was never plugged into the grid and crossed the continental divide 8 times, travelled over 1200 miles on gravel roads, taken on snow, ice, the low angle of the Northern hemisphere during the wettest summer of the past 30 years, and conquered the infamous Dempster Highway at its worst since it was built 40 years ago.
