One of the most exciting things about South By Southwest is watching international bands that rarely get to play in the U.S. The downside is slogging all the way to Austin.   Fortunately, you can get that thrill this weekend at the Culture Collide Festival, right here in Echo Park.

Taking place October 6, through Sunday, October 9th, this ambitious fest brings in bands from 24 different countries for four days of first-rate music. Groups that would otherwise never get to play together will share bills.

We're quite certain that this (and a lot of beer) is a recipe for world peace; still, there will be many acts you haven't heard of, and even some you can't pronounce.
